Everton manager Marco Silva will be pleased with the work done by the club in the summer transfer market.
The likes of Richarlison and Andre Gomes, high calibre players, were brought in and have performed exceptionally well when called upon.
12 games into this season, though, and the Portuguese coach may start to regret not pushing for a striker on top of all his other summer recruits.
Not convinced with either Cenk Tosun or Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Silva has moved Richarlison up front in an experiment that is working so far.
Going forward, however, that may not be the direction Silva wants to go in, which could prompt Everton to signing a new centre-forward as early as January.
And if that happens to be the case, Silva and director of football Marcel Brands would be crazy not to consider West Ham talisman Marko Arnautovic.
The Austrian recently admitted in an interview with Kurier (via Sky Sports) that he could seek a challenge away from the London Stadium, citing his goal of playing Champions League football. And while that is not something Everton can currently offer, moving there would still arguably be a step up.
On top of their ambition to bring European nights to Goodison Park, Everton have a lot of quality players who could help Arnautovic reach that next level as a forward.
As for Everton, from their perspective, they would be getting practically a complete No.9. Like a more old-fashioned centre-forward, Arnautovic has the strength to play with his back towards goal and hold up the ball.
But as well as that, he also has the technical skill to beat defenders and carve out his own opportunities.
Lining up alongside the likes of Richarlison, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Gomes, Arnautovic would help transform Everton into one of the most dangerous teams in the Premier League while making that Champions League dream a real possibility for the Toffees.
