Everton are considering a swap deal involving Anderson Talisca and the club’s current striker Cenk Tosun, according to Portuguese publication A Bola.
What’s the story?
Talisca is currently on loan at Besiktas from Benfica for the season and has impressed at the Turkish club having scored 16 goals and created three assists in all competitions.
A Bola reports that Besiktas have first refusal on Talisca when the season comes to an end, and there are suggestions that the club will buy him with the intention of selling.
Tosun left the Turkish outfit in January to join Everton, but the Portuguese publication claims that the attacker is wanted back.
It is believed that the Toffees are considering a swap deal that would involve Talisca arriving at Goodison Park in the summer.
Could Tosun be out the door already?
It took time for the 26-year-old to settle into life at Everton as he struggled for game time under manager Sam Allardyce.
Due to his slow start, many questioned whether the striker would solve the club’s attacking issues and fill the Romelu Lukaku-shaped hole following the Belgian’s move to Manchester United.
In his first four games for the Merseyside outfit, Tosun did not complete a full 90 minutes and he made little impact on the field.
After scoring four goals in his last three outings for Everton, the fans have begun singing Tosun’s praises and he looks much more comfortable in front of goal.
Given that he is just finding his rhythm, it would not make an ounce of sense for the Toffees to offload the Turkey international.
He certainly deserves a full season to prove his value to the team.
