Loads of Everton fans on Twitter have been discussing Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Adama Traore following his display in his side’s 2-1 defeat against Premier League leaders Liverpool at Molineux on Thursday night.
The former Barcelona youth prospect started on the right-hand side against Jurgen Klopp’s men and caused Andy Robertson problems throughout the encounter, also providing the assist for Raul Jimenez’s equaliser in the second half.
The 23-year-old had two shots, made two key passes and successfully completed six dribbles against the Reds, as per WhoScored, with Klopp even taking time to pay tribute to him after the match.
While his pace and dribbling ability has never been in doubt, the Spanish attacker’s end product has often been questioned in the past but the same can’t be said of him this term – Traore now has five goals and 10 assists in 35 appearances in all competitions in 2019/20.
Indeed, many Everton fans on Twitter would love their club to sign the Wolves ace, with one suggesting he would be a good replacement for Theo Walcott – the former Arsenal man has no goals and two assists in 21 outings this season – and another describing him as “frightening”.
Another Toffees supporter labelling Traore as “world-class” certainly created a debate too, with two fellow fans saying that while he is good, he can’t be considered to be that good yet.
Call yourself an Everton expert? How much did each of these January signings cost?
Six goals and 13 assists in 71 games in total for Wolves certainly backs up their claim well, and until that consistency arrives they are absolutely right.
