Leeds United could reportedly be without striker Caleb Ekuban for at least two months due to a fractured foot.
According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, the 22-year-old is expected to have a lengthy layoff after undergoing surgery.
Ekuban, who joined the Whites from Chievo Verona in July on a four-year deal, suffered the blow during his Championship debut against Sunderland on August 19.
The Italian broke a bone in his foot during an incident off the ball just as his team launched a counter-attack.
Despite suffering the problem almost three weeks ago, the Yorkshire Evening Post claims that Leeds only made the decision to send him under the knife just before the international break.
It seems as though Thomas Christiansen will be unable to call upon the striker until the festive period in December.
The club have started the season positively having won three and drawn two of their league matches, which has put them third in the table, four points adrift of leaders Cardiff City.
