Just about everyone under the sun has chimed in on the controversy surrounding Scott Brown and several Rangers players, and even footballer turned Hollywood hard-man Vinnie Jones has had his say.
Celtic overcame Rangers in dramatic circumstances on Sunday, as once again the most entertaining derby in football did not fail to disappoint.
Ryan Kent scored a wonderful goal for the Gers in between Celtic strikes from Odsonne Edouard and James Forrest, but it’s the red cards that are prompting all the debate.
Both Alfredo Morelos and Andy Halliday saw red after clashes with Hoops skipper Brown, but Jones says he would have put Broony in his place.
Former Wigan & Fulham man, Jimmy Bullard recently showed that he’s still got it! Check out the video below…
What has he said?
Speaking on TalkSPORT’s Sports Breakfast, Jones said: “Brown has tripped him from behind, he’s wound him up and the Rangers lad has lashed out at him.
“He’s either got to wise up, man up and deal with it in a tackle or something else like that, or he’s going to be down the road.
“I would have waited, said ‘alright son’, set one up and then smashed him later on.
“You couldn’t really get away with it when we were playing, but it’s even harder now with all the cameras and everything.
“Wisey (Dennis Wise) was the best at it. He did it in the dressing room and in training.”
The perfect leader
Jones went on to explain how much Wise “loved doing it”, with “it” of course referring to winding up the opposition to the point of no return, and he’s not wrong about Brown either.
The Bhoys skipper certainly has a dark side to his game, but without that would he be fit to lead a club whose supporters hold such high expectations week in week out? Probably not.
Brown’s fight over flight mentality is exactly what makes him the perfect fit to lead Parkhead, and what a sight it would be to see Jones and Broony go at it for 90 minutes.
